Course Overview
Introduction

There is currently no recruitment into the Diploma of Agronomy, however, students can achieve a similar outcome through enrolment into the Diploma of Agriculture.  If you are interested in an Agronomy stream, please contact our Course Coordinator.

This course provides training in the high-level practical skills needed to provide technical information and advice on plant nutrition and fertiliser application for grain, pasture and fodder crops, appropriate crop varieties, crop rotations, weed, pest and disease management and effective soil testing. This qualification is intended for individuals who require technical and applied skills and knowledge in agronomy in the areas of sales, advisory services, research or farming. The qualification is appropriate for farmers wishing to develop their skills and knowledge and those seeking formal qualifications. Graduates may find work as consultant agronomists, employment with agricultural merchandise companies and chemical, fertiliser and seed companies or with agricultural departments.
This course can be completed concurrently with the Diploma of Agriculture.

What will I Learn?

Plant nutrition and fertiliser application for grain, pasture and fodder crops, appropriate crop varieties, crop rotations, weed, pest and disease management and effective soil testing.
