MAKING people feel good about themselves is Serena Van Someren’s favourite part of working in the beauty industry.

I studied the Certificate IV and Diploma of Beauty Therapy at South West TAFE while also working at Aesthetic Beauty Spot in Warrnambool.

I had always loved beauty and was always practicing on myself and my sisters. I thought if I enjoyed beauty as a hobby, why not try to make a career out of something that I love?

I love working in the industry and particularly love working with clients and helping to make them feel confident and beautiful after their treatments.

Make-up, spray tanning and tinting treatments give an instant result which I really love.

I really enjoyed my training and the teachers at South West TAFE were really hands-on and supportive whenever I needed help.

Now that I have completed my studies, I’m looking forward to continuing to work at Aesthetic Beauty Spot and advancing my skills. I am always wanting to keep learning.
