This course will give you the skills and knowledge in the operation of excavators, skid loaders, articulated front end loaders and rollers.
Through a combination of classroom learning and practical training our experienced trainers will teach you to operate and work with heavy earthmoving machinery on a simulated worksite.
On successful completion of this course you will receive certificates of competency for the use of rollers, skid steer loaders, excavators and wheeled loader operations.
The course runs for six weeks, although this time frame may be reduced at the assessors discretion for experienced operators.

Successful completion of this course will give you the skills to operate earthmoving machinery. You will receive a certificate of competency for the units you successfully complete.
You may continue furthering your skills in this field with a Certificate III in Civil Construction.
You must be at least 18 years of age to enrol in this course.

This course involves accredited units. You will be required to complete assessment tasks to demonstrate your underpinning knowledge, skills and attributes to meet the course outcomes. A combination of written, oral and practical assessment strategies will be used in either a classroom, online or workplace environment.
Where units require demonstration of skills in a workplace environment, you will have the opportunity to do this either in your own workplace (where appropriate), through a practical placement, or by using one of the Institute's simulated workshops/classrooms. Detailed information about the types, conduct and dates of assessments will be provided in advance. You will also be provided with information about the opportunity for reassessment and appeal.
Once you have booked your place in a short course, you will receive an email confirming the date, time and location of the course, and instructions on the next steps of your enrolment process. A tax invoice/receipt is automatically emailed to you at the time of purchase.

Complete a Pre-Training Review
You will receive an email to complete a Pre-Training Review online. This evaluation helps us ensure you receive any necessary support to achieve a successful outcome for your course. Failure to complete will incur a $20 administration fee for a booking cancellation or transfer.

Skills recognition
If you have experience or prior qualifications, you may be eligible to apply for recognition of prior learning and gain credits. You will be asked to provide any relevant Statement of Attainment to support identified credits.
